Good design is more than an image. More than a feeling, a comfortable space, or a high performing envelope. More than what's good for me or you, for the past, or the present. Good architectural design emerges when we create spaces, both inside and outside, that speak to every part of our human experience, past, present, and future. I like looking at the big picture, and at the small details, and weaving them together into one narrative that reflects the values which hold them together.
About
Nadia Khan is a licensed architect in Texas, with extensive experience in residential and light commercial projects with a focus on sustainable modern design. She practiced architecture in the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 years, prior to moving to Austin, Texas. She was a Project Architect for Arkin Tilt Architects and a Job Captain for Jason Kaldis Architects, both in Berkeley, CA. Find more of her work on Pinterest.
Nadia believes that excellent collaboration is key to a successful design and construction process. She successfully fosters strong relationships between owners, contractors and the project team. As a natural communicator and detail-oriented project manager, she makes an often complex design and construction process more manageable and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Services:
NKA offers full architectural services which proceeds through the following phases:
- Schematic Design (conceptual design iterations)
- Design Development (developing the schematic design)
- Contract Documents (construction and permitting drawings)
- Bidding & Negotiation (helping you find a contractor)
- Contract Administration (answering contractor questions during construction.)
We often provide Pre-Design services such as masterplanning, feasibility studies, architectural consults, programming, and as-built drawings.
